• After completing his studies, Anupam started working as a product manager at MicroStrategy in Washington DC. There he worked for approx 3 years then he returned to India. After that he once met a matrimonial consultant which sparked an idea in him and in 1997 he started Sagai.com. It was the first online matrimonial portal, now known as Shaadi.com.

• On May 12, 2005 Anupam later started India’s first mobile gaming company Mauj Mobile and property marketplace Makaan.com in 2006.
